HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- It's a refreshing cool start across Southeast Texas this morning, with most of us waking up to temperatures around 50 degrees.

Today, we'll see partly sunny skies with mild afternoon temps warming to around 70 degrees. A spotty afternoon shower or two will be possible, but most of us will stay dry due to the dry air in place.

What can we expect for the upcoming work week?
Cool mornings and warm afternoons are coming up for the work week. As we start the week, we will see a lot of sunshine with mostly sunny skies for Tuesday and Wednesday. Moisture returns Thursday bringing back cloud cover. Another cold front moves in Friday bringing back a chance for scattered showers and storms.

When will we have another opportunity for rain?
Most of next week will be dry, but a small rain chance will return Thursday as Gulf moisture rushes in ahead of our next cool front. That front will arrive either Friday or Saturday, and that's when we'll have our next opportunity for showers and thunderstorms.
