Lacrosse Finishes Season with Trip to Penn Thursday, Senior Day vs. Duquesne on Sunday - La Salle University Athletics

PHILADELPHIA – Lacrosse looks to finish the season with a pair of wins as it travels to Penn Thursday before returning home for Senior Day against Duquesne on Sunday. First draw against the Quakers is at 4 p.m., while the game against the Dukes begins at 11 a.m. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
  • La Salle heads into its final two games with a 4-8 record and a 2-5 mark in A-10 action. 
  • The Blue & Gold is coming off one of its most dominant wins in recent history, scoring 22 times to rout St. Bonaventure—its most goals since 2007.
  • Senior Annina Iacobucci is the team's leading scorer with 28 goals. Her shot percentage of .622 leads the conference and is 13th in the nation.
  • Iacobucci was one of eight Explorers with multiple goals against the Bonnies last time out. She tallied four, sophomore Madi McKee had five, senor Emily Johnston recorded three, and five Explorers finished with two.
  • Senior Sarah Elias has become the team's top provider this campaign and overall has 12 assists.
  • In net, senior Molly Loughlin ranks third in the A-10 in saves per game (8.92), fifth in goals against average (12.56) and sixth in save percentage (.426).
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
  • This is Penn's first and only game this season. The Quakers were 4-1 last season with their only loss to #4 Loyola.
  • Penn loses its top two scorers in Gabby Rosenzweig and Erin Barry, who combined for 24 goals and 15 assists in five games last year.
  • The top returning goal scorer is junior Taylyn Stadler, who had 10 scores, and senior Zoe Belodeau with eight goals and three assists.
  • Junior Krissy Kowalski returns in net having recorded 36 saves on 71 shots in 2020. Her save percentage of .507 was 12th in the nation.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
  • Duquesne is 4-3 this year with a 3-3 mark in conference play. They previously defeated La Salle 19-17 on April 9th.
  • Graduate student Maddie Hart was the nation's leader in caused turnovers per game last year and she is again in 2021 with 3.71. She is third in the NCAA in ground balls per game (3.86) and 15th in draw controls per game (6.71).
  • Leading the offense is graduate student Rilee Bradshaw, who paces the conference in goals per game (3.57) and shots per game (8.43).
