Happy Easter Sunday Husky fans. The Husky coaching staff has been checking out film of extending a few new offers. So far the Husky staff have extended 66 offers in the 2022 class and 23 in the 2023 class (compared to 97 in the 2021 class). A few of the newer offers that have gone out have been in the 2023 class.
4 star running back Tre Wisner from Connally HS, TX was offered by the Husky staff after checking out some of his sophomore film. Rated as the 95th best player in the country, Wisner is more of a true all purpose back (who is best in the open space). Wisner is from the same high school as current Husky Jayveon Sunday. So far Wisner holds offers from Ohio State, Florida State, LSU, and Oklahoma. The Huskies will continue to battle for Wisner who will be a tough pull.
Another new offer went out to a couple of 4 star tight ends in the 2023 class. Cooper Flanagan from De La Salle HS, CA was one of the tight ends who was offered. Listed at 6’5” and and around 225 pounds 247 sports just rated Flanagan as the 7th best tight end in the country and a 4 star tight end. Another tight end who was just offered was Walker Lyons from Folsom HS, CA. Listed at 6’5” and around 230 pounds. Lyons was rated as the 10th best tight end recently by 247sports. Lastly, 4 star tight end Riley Williams from Central Catholic HS, OR was also extended an offer. Listed at 6’5” and around 230 pounds, Williams was recently rated as the 8th best tight end in the 2023 class. So far the Huskies have extended 6 offers at tight end which happens to have a lot of talent both nationally and in the west coast. The Husky offense definitely features the tight end and it looks like UW will try and bring in a couple in the 2023 class.
One of the top prospects on the Husky board in the 2023 class is Leviticus Su’a from Mater Dei HS, CA. The Huskies offered Su’a a few months ago and since then they have been one of the schools who have been in touch with him the most. I recently was able to ask him some questions and here is what he has to say:
UW was the 2nd school I believe to offer you. What did you think when you got the UW offer?
I was very grateful and excited. It really meant a lot too that my parents were able to be there with me when I was offered.
Which coach at UW offered you and where are you being recruited at?
Coach Lake was the one to extend the offer and Coach Gregory was with us. I’m being recruited as an Inside Linebacker.
What do you think of UW so far in your recruitment?
I feel that UW could definitely be a possibility in where I spend my college football career.
Are you planning on heading up to Seattle this spring or summer?
I hadn’t been planning on taking a trip to Seattle but my 7on7 team: Premium, might have a tournament out there.
What are you looking for in a school you decide to commit to?
When I decide to commit, I’m looking for a school that sees and appreciates my full worth on and off the field.
When do you plan on making your commitment?
I haven’t even thought about when my commitment would be.
The Huskies would love to add Su’a to their roster, and he looks like one of the best inside backers in the 2023 class.
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
