Track Concludes Day at the Redhawk Invitational with a Dozen Top-15 Performances - MSU Eagles

MOREHEAD, Ky. –

Morehead State Track completed its day at the Redhawk Invitational with several Eagles earning top-15 finishes. The meet, hosted by Miami (Ohio), was held at the George L. Rider Track in Oxford, Ohio. Freshman Kilani Harvey had the highest finish for MSU, placing second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.38 seconds.
 
Other top performances for the women's squad include an eighth-place finish in the 5000 meter event by Laikin Tarlton that saw her cross the line at 18:10.37. Maya Andrews placed in eighth in the 200 meter at 26.97 seconds while Dallas Jones followed closely behind at 27.90 seconds to finish 14th. Olivia Chapman paced Morehead State in the 800 meter event with a 13th-place finish with a time of 2:20.18.
 
The men's team saw three Eagles finish in the top-15 in the 800 meter event with Michael Dunagan leading the way at 1:56.98 to place fourth while Toby Cook and Darby Pillow finished 13th (1:59.17) and 15th (1:59.30), respectively. Pillow also placed ninth in the 400 meter at 52.04 seconds. Garrett Watts earned a fourth-place finish in the 1500 meter at 3:58.71 while Jarrett Mattingly came in 12th in the event with a time of 4:00.67. Kyle Embry concluded the top performances for the Eagles, crossing the line at 15:19.41 in the 5000 meter to place 13th.
 
Up next for Morehead State is a trip to Lexington, Ky., to compete in the Kentucky Open on April 30 and May 1. The meet will be held at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Facility.
